How to get the right start to a zoo in Planet Zoo

How to plan:

The first stage of any project is to design, I first started by splitting my zoo into sections, and I did it with the continents of the world. You must also decide which animals you want to use in each section, your zoo won't do much without animals! Additionally, you will have to plan zones to place guest accommodations, e.g: Shops or toilets, but you will also have to place all of your key staff buildings, and I suggest building a shell around them to hide them from guest view, you can do this by placing the plain white staff buildings down with their grid, you can then place walls around them.

How To Start:

When I first start my zoo, I often like to build a car park, I do this by using the guest spawning coaches from the europe pack, and then placing the plain black paths on top, you con also add the African Offroad Vehicles for more decoration. I normally then build a simple plaza with a couple plants and some bins and benches, to help accommodate your guests, if you want to, plazas are also often a good spot to place your gift shops. Afterwards, you will need to place all of your staff buildings (But the Trade Centre is definitely the most important)

Your First Animals:

Normally, I would suggest that you start with a simple exhibit habitat, as they require far less space and have less requirements than habitat animals, and they're always a good attraction, you can do this by placing down an item in the facilities tab called an Animal Exhibit. After you place it down, you must go to the Exhibit Trading Tab, and purchase an animal of your choice, remember to check the Zoopedia for group sizes, so that your exhibits don't get overcrowded. Managing Your Exhibit: Exhibits have a lot of settings to keep stable, and temperature regulation is key, if your see an alert pop up saying that an animal isn't at the right temperature or humidity, you can simply go into the temperature tab, and change it there, if you want, you can also play around with the management setting to do things like close windows. Your

First Habitat:

You're Finally prepared to build your first habitat! Your first step is to choose which animal to put in your zoo, the most commonly suggested animal would be the Nile Monitor, as it is cheap and quite easy to build for, though I used the American Bison. Secondly, you need to decide whether you want to use the in game pre made barriers, or if you want to use the special null barriers and design your own custom barriers, once you've decided, place a ring of barriers around the area you want your habitat to be (if you check the Zoopedia, it can tell you how much land space your animal needs), some animals also have water requirements, you can simply accomplish this by pushing the ground with the terrain tab, and then fill the hole you make with water. You will also want to add a habitat gate into your barrier, as it allows your staff to access it. After the terrain is made, the last thing you need is plants, try and place plants from the same continent and biome as your animal, but if you feel that it doesn't fit in, then it won't effect your animals much anyway. And lastly, trade in your animals, and send them to the habitat.

How to expand your zoo

Normally, to expand your zoo you would simply build a second habitat using the same basic idea I mentioned last time, but instead, if you want  to do what I did, I built an indoor micro-habitat based off of the Twilight DLC Pack. Foundations: I first started by placing a mixture of yellow-brown stained wood and limestone, I then added a roof and laid out the area where I wanted my animals eat, drink and sleep whilst saying out of guest view, and the section where I wanted them being viewed. Decoration: After I laid the shell of the habitat, I went through on t inside and placed the leaf wallpaper everywhere, and coloured it all black, I then went through with ivy and red lights for effect, I then started placing plants everywhere I wanted them to be in the habitat. Finishing the habitat: At last, all you have to do now is place a habitat gate, place some null barriers around the habitat, and then place your glass, now enjoy your new micro  habitat!
